Ceno vacuum upgrades

The Ceno 2 motor vacuum is, as the name suggests, a 110v vacuum with 2 independently switched motors, an internal cloth filter and a 1.5” hose. There is also a 220v version with 3 motors that uses the same exact vac body, more on that later. It’s not a bad vacuum for the price, but there are some easy improvements you can make yourself. Trio steel discs

I may be onto another crazy idea. If you look at the driver pads of the Trio you notice a big almost 5 inch hollow spot in the center of them. Also every 1.5 inches or so there's a void on the part that does make contact, but we can ignore that for now. Theoretically speaking, what if the discs on the Trio only made contact with a half inch strip around the outside instead of 1 1/2? It would take even longer, require more...

Alternative edging method

When I first learned how to edge I would work towards making sure that all the scratches made by the edger were 90 degrees to the wood grain. 90 degree scratches are the hardest to take out with the buffer or random orbit sander, and it gets gradually easier and easier the closer the scratches get to parallel with the grain of the boards. Multidisc steel discs

When we purchased our Bona Multidisc, it came with optional soft pads that you could install between the stock pads and the abrasives to lessen the aggressiveness and leave a smoother scratch pattern.
